Every site that recommends things to buy is paid by somebody. The question worth asking is who, and whether it changes what you are shown. Here is our answer to both, in as few words as it takes.
When you click through from Saevious and buy something, the retailer pays us a share of that sale through an affiliate network — for most of what you see here, that network is Awin.
The price you pay is the price you would have paid going direct. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not out of your pocket, and nothing here costs more because you found it through us.
This is the only way money reaches this company. We sell no advertising. We take no fee from retailers to be listed. We charge you nothing.
A retailer cannot pay to rank higher here. There is no promoted slot, no sponsored row, no bid that moves a product up the page. Results are ordered by how well they match what you asked and nothing else.
We do not weight the ranking by commission rate either. If the best answer to your search pays us less than the second-best answer, the best answer still goes first — that is a rule we hold ourselves to, and it is the entire reason to build this rather than another comparison site.
The price history is what makes that checkable. A discount here has to prove itself against what the product actually cost before, not against a “was” price a retailer typed in this morning.
Being straight about the limits: we only earn from retailers who are in an affiliate network, so those are the retailers in our catalogue. If a shop runs no affiliate programme, we probably do not have it, and you should not read our catalogue as a survey of the whole market.
We are working to widen it. In the meantime, if you are comparing seriously, it is worth a look elsewhere too — and we would rather say so than pretend this is everything that exists.
A model like this only pays when the thing we showed you was worth buying. Nothing reaches us for showing you an advert, holding your attention, or selling what we know about you. We get paid when you find something good, and not otherwise.
That is a deliberately narrow way to run a business. It is also the only arrangement we could find where our interest and yours point the same direction.
